Mavs Snap losing streak with clutch Doncic three
Luka Doncic's last-second three-pointer gave the Dallas Mavericks a 109-108 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Tuesday night, lifting them to a 2-0 lead in their Western Conference first-round playoff series.
With the Mavericks trailing 108-106 with just three seconds remaining, Doncic pulled up from well beyond the three-point line and drained a shot that sent the American Airlines Center crowd into a frenzy.
Doncic finished with a game-high 33 points, 10 rebounds, and nine assists, while his backcourt mate Kyrie Irving added 26 points. Karl-Anthony Towns led the Timberwolves with 21 points and 10 rebounds, while Anthony Edwards added 19 points.
The Mavericks, who had lost their previous two games, took control of the game in the fourth quarter. After trailing by as many as 14 points in the first half, they outscored the Timberwolves 33-16 in the final period.
The Timberwolves will host Game 3 of the series on Thursday night.
