Deadly Beach Club Collapse in Palma de Mallorca
Four Killed, 16 Injured
The roof of the two-story Medusa Beach Club in Palma de Mallorca collapsed on Thursday evening, killing four people and injuring 16.
The incident occurred at around 10:30 p.m. local time, as hundreds of people were enjoying the evening at the popular beachfront restaurant. Witnesses reported hearing a loud bang before the roof collapsed, sending debris and patrons crashing to the ground.
Emergency services rushed to the scene and began searching for survivors. Four people were pronounced dead at the scene, while 16 others were taken to nearby hospitals. Seven of the injured are in very serious condition, and nine are in serious condition.
The cause of the collapse is still under investigation, but officials say it may have been caused by a structural failure.
